Michael Willard Leppanen

Mike sadly passed away on April 4th, 2024, at the age of 80, surrounded by loved ones, after battling chronic health issues.  He was born on September 12, 1943 in Marquette to Willard and Joan (Shorkey) Leppanen.  Mike was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends.

Mike was a hardworking, intelligent, and caring man. He graduated from Eben Junction High School in 1962. He was married to his high school sweetheart Flora for 63 years. He spent his career at Kimberly Clark in Munising. In his free time Mike enjoyed hunting and fishing and taught his sons to do the same. He enjoyed playing cards with his wife, and listening to music -  his favorite being Elvis. Mike always loved spending time with his grandkids and great grandkids.

Mike was predeceased by his mother and father, Joan and Willard, and his son, Scott. He is survived by his loving wife Flora, son Greg, sister Joy, grandkids, Maria, Luke, Laurie, and Michael, and great grandkids Natalie, Maddie, and Jude. 

A private ceremony will be held in honor of Mike's life at the family’s camp.
