Michael A. Toth

Michael Allen “Mike” Toth, age 58, of Munising, MI and formerly of Chardon, OH, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Feb 12, 2025 at his home following some long term health complications. He was born in Willoughby, OH on December 6, 1966 to Roger and Candice (Francisco) Toth. Mike grew up in Chardon and graduated from Chardon High School in 1985 where he was a standout baseball player. He attended ETI Electronic Technology Institute in Cleveland, OH. Mike’s family moved to Pennsylvania where he started working as a tile setter and worked in homes and businesses in the area. He married his high school sweetheart Karen L. Froelich on May 6, 1995 and together they raised their son Nick. They moved to Las Vegas where Mike continued his tile setting and was able to work in some large venues and casinos. Mike began working in delivery services where he would deliver publications, papers and brochures to the casinos that promoted the city and tourism around Vegas. Mike and Karen were looking for somewhere smaller and more rural to live, so following a vacation to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, they found their new home. Their love of the Midwest and nature brought them to Munising where they were able to immerse themselves in nature. Mike loved taking rides in the woods, fishing and kayaking in as many lakes as he could find. Even when his health made it hard to paddle, he equipped his kayak with an electric trolling motor to be able to enjoy the water. Mike loved spending time with his son Nick and Nick got him interested in video games of all kinds, but Mike enjoyed games that required good strategy.

 Mike is survived by his wife of over twenty-nine years - Karen Toth of Munising; son - Nick Toth of Munising; mother - Candice Toth of Henderson, NV; sisters - Vicki Toth and Lorinda (Felisnando “Felix”) Gonzales; niece - Emily Castro; great-nephew - Cameron Jones-Gamble; aunt - Patricia Toth; uncle - Gerry Gill; cousins - Dawn Toth and Olivia Toth; aunt and uncle - Brenda and Curtis Francisco; Godmother - Virginia (William) Shank; brothers-in-law - George Michael Crone and Charles Froelich, Jr.; sister-in-law - Shari Froelich; nephew - Dylan Froelich; step mother-in-law - Theresa Froelich; step sister - Angela Percassi.

 Mike was preceded in death by his father - Roger Toth; aunt - Sandra Gill; aunt and uncle - Ann and Carl Fetzer; maternal grandparents - Curtis and Dorothy (Joyce) Francisco; paternal grandparents - John and Frances (Kaurich)Toth; Godfather - Hugh Rear; father-in-law; - Charles Froelich, Sr.; mother-in-law - Patricia (Trimble) Froelich.
