Mickey Johnson, age 57, of N7818 Reindeer Run, Christmas, died early Sunday morning, January 10, 2010 of heart complications at his home. He was born on July 1, 1952 in Hamlin, West Virginia to Arthur "Tank" and Shirley (Scites) Johnson. Mickey's family moved to the Chesterfield Township area when he was eight years old. He graduated from Lanse Creuse High School in 1970. Mickey worked with his father Tank for over thirty years in his well drilling business. He then worked for Huron Tool. Mickey met Denise in 2000, moved to Munising in 2001, and they spent many wonderful years together. They were married on July 2, 2008. Mickey had worked at Timber Products and briefly drove the shuttle bus for the casino. Most recently, he had been employed at the Shell station. Mickey enjoyed trapping, fishing, and hunting grouse. His entire life, he loved to take walks in the woods. He knew a million jokes and was knowledgeable in all subjects. Mickey was also a great Papa.
He is survived by his wife - Denise Johnson of Christmas; two sons - Joshua (Monica) Johnson and Jeremy Johnson of Port Huron; his mother - Shirley Johnson of Richmond; three step-daughters - Phyllis (Gregg) Murk of Munising, Emily (Luis) Santiago of Marysville, and Laura Gapczynski of Munising; grandchildren - Jerrick, Kaylee, Madylyn, Ariyana, Caitlyn, MacKenzie, Trent, Elsie, Spenser, and Mara; and his puppies - Muffin and Biscuit. Mickey was preceded in death by his father, Tank.
