He was a member of the Grand Island Masonic Lodge, American Legion, and coffee klutch at the Dogpatch. He loved his animals and spending time with his friends. He enjoyed volunteering in the community (construction/rehabilitation of Grand Island Masonic Lodge, Brown's Addition Baseball Field, Mustang Stadium and Alger Ice Arena, etc...), cooking at hunting camp, fishing, putt-putt rides for "grandpa's girls", being outdoors, and living in the Upper Peninsula.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Cynthia "Cyndy" Hanbaum in 1985, brother Don Bowyer, Jr., and sister Betty Wilder.

Services will be held at the Bowerman Funeral Home in Munising on Friday, August 28, 2015. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon. The Grand Island Masonic Lodge will conduct a Masonic service beginning at noon and Pastor Ann Gonyea will follow with Moe's funeral service. Interment will be at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Munising where American Legion and Vietnam Veteran Honor Guard will conduct military honors.

In lieu of flowers, Moe would have requested donations to the Alger Animal Shelter or the Grand Island Masonic Lodge.
