Munising
Myrtle M. Perry, age 88, of Monette Road, Munising, died early Saturday morning, January 14, 2012 at the Tendercare Health Center in Munising. She was born on December 5, 1923 in Tomahawk, Wisconsin to the late John and Dorothy (Lutes) Barker. Myrtle's family moved to Munising and she graduated from Wm. G. Mather High School. She married Raymond Wallace Perry and together they raised their children. Myrtle worked at the Superior Health Haven for many years and then she went to work at the Veneer Mill at Timber Products and retired from there. She was a member of the Munising Wesleyan Church and enjoyed baking, cooking, flower gardening, hunting, camping, listening to many different styles of music, and spending Sundays at a lake with her children and nieces and nephews after church.
She is survived by her husband - Raymond; children - Jeffrey(Wilma) Perry, David Perry, Sr., Edna Paine all of Munising, Tim Perry of Shingleton, Bobby (Patsy) Perry of Milwaukee, Cindy (Tom) Hoy of VanMeer, and Todd (Peggy) Perry of Indiana; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters - Eva Groh of Muskegon and Priscilla (Gary) Johns of Washington; and several nieces and nephews. Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents, children Dolores Thompson, Sandy Fetterhoff, and an infant child, grandson Nathan and sisters Charlotte McCleary and Adeline Bower.
Visitation will be held at the Bowerman Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Pastor Robert Tripp will conduct Myrtle's funeral service on Thursday, January 19, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the Wesleyan Church in Wetmore. A luncheon will follow the service in the lower level of the church. Interment will be at the Munising Township Cemetery in Wetmore on Friday, April 27, 2012 at 2:00 p.m.
