Munising
Nancy Gollinger, age 77, of Munising, died Sunday, April 29, 2012 at the Tendercare Health Center in Munising. She was born on June 19, 1934, in Munising to the late Stanley and Clara (Raymond) Gollinger. Nancy graduated from Sacred Heart School and attended Wm. G. Mather. In 1953 she married Jack Vadnais. During his service in the U.S. Navy they lived in Hawaii, Texas, Tennessee, and in 1956 moved to California. Nancy worked at a number of grocery stores, and when she returned to Munising she worked at Notie's News. In 1973 she moved to Coleridge, Nebraska where she was a member of the St. Michael's Church and choir. After returning home to Munising, Nancy was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Church, Sacred Heart Guild, St. Mary Magdalene Circle, and was a Faith Formation Teacher. She enjoyed collecting Lord Is My Shepherd and Lamb artwork, playing BINGO, singing, making crafts and beading.
Nancy is survived by her sister Betty Alexander of Victorville, CA, brother George (Paula) Gollinger of Vacaville, CA, aunt Violet Mayotte of Munising, cousin and caregiver Mary Gail (Bob) Haapala of Wetmore, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Clara and Stanley, sisters Patricia Gollinger and Therese Wenzel, and brother Jack Gollinger.
Nancy's Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
