Munising

Nancy E. Syers, age 76, of Munising, died Thursday morning, December 1, 2022 at UP Health Systems Marquette following a lengthy illness.  She was born on April 30, 1946 in Munising, to the late Willard and Viola (Johns) Syers, Sr.  Nancy enjoyed ice fishing, snowmobiling, caring for her plants, and reading Steven King and mystery novels.  She enjoyed reminiscing of the old radio programs, and her favorite channel was Turner Classic Movies especially watching the old black and white films.  Nancy was a strong, hardworking, single mother, who loved her four kids and grandkids.

She is survived by her son – Darren Syers of Chatham; daughter – Dawn Syers of Chatham; grandkids – Laura Syers, Micailia (Joe) Sherwood, Tyler (Kaitlyn) Snell, Kurt (Alexis) Snell, and Dakota (Dustin) Lee;  great-grandchildren – Ava, Haley, Ryder, Roman, Noah, Benjamin, Jenevieve, Jacquelyn, Cyril, Wayne, Eiza, Elijah, Skyler, Jayden, and one on the way; sister – Geraldine Syers; sister-in-law – Darlene Brown: and dearest friend Lori Maki.  Nancy was preceded in death by her parents – Willard and Viola; son – Donald Syers; daughter – Jackie Snell; and brothers – Steven and Willard Syers, Jr.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.  Family has requested that any memorials in Nancy’s name be directed to the Bowerman Funeral Home to assist with her services.
