Norma Olive Mark, age 82, of E9699 North Townline Lake Road, Wetmore, died surrounded by her family at her home on Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at 7:39 p.m. She was born on July 9, 1927 at her family home in Bayport, MI to the late Harrol and Mildred (Harder) Beebe. Norma graduated from Flushing High School in 1946. She then married Charles "Chuck" LeRoy Mark on December 27, 1947, and together they raised their six children. Norma enjoyed being in the outdoors, hunting and fishing. She also enjoyed board games, card games, bingo, and going to the casino. Norma was a good cook, and had her neighbors lined up at the door when they knew she was making pasties. Norma had a great sense of humor, keeping a smile on her family's faces. She was a member of the Moose Lodge and the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW.
Norma is survived by her six children - Gregg (Linda) Mark of Mt. Morris, Chris Patten of Flint, Bruce (Bonnie) Mark of Oscoda, MI, Kelly (Steve) Irons of Burton, MI, Troy Mark of Wetmore, and Craig "Jeff" (Gina) Mark of Flint; fourteen grandchildren - Michelle, Nathan, Laura, Teresa, Jason, Carrie, Anthony, Chris, Kyle, April, Steven, Aaron, Joshua, and Alex; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters - June Latack of Roseville, MI and Loraine Robertoy of Waterford, MI; brother Harrol Beebe of Naubinway, MI; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of over fifty-six years in 2004; and her parents Harrol and Mildred.
The Women of the Moose will be conducting a memorial service on Saturday, August 8, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the family home at E9699 North Townline Lake Road.
