Patricia Rose Klosowski

 Patricia “Pat” Klosowski, age 89, of Munising, died unexpectedly on Wednesday evening, August 14, 2024. She was born on October 14, 1934 to Raymond and Myrtle (Barteau) Marentette. Pat grew up in Ferndale and when she was a teenager, her family purchased The Pines in Seney and moved north. Pat graduated from Sacred Heart School in Munising and attended Wm. G. Mather High School. She married John Stanley Klosowski on September 25, 1954 and together they raised their four children. Pat was a homemaker and when her children went to school, she babysat kids in her own home. Pat worked in the kitchen at Munising Memorial Hospital and then Harbourview Assisted Living for many years. While working full-time, she also kept the books and was co-owner of Klosowski Oil with John. Pat was an active and faithful member of Sacred Heart Church. When her health no longer allowed her to attend Mass, she was still able to partake in the Eucharist through her grandson-in-law, Jared Bowerman, who brought her Communion through the homebound ministry at her home or in the hospital. She loved her Catholic faith and was grateful to Jared. Pat enjoyed her daily walks with her dog around town. She supported all her kid’s and grandkid’s activities and events where they participated. Pat was devoted to her family and loved social gatherings. Her gentle touch, beautiful smile, and genuine interest in what was happening made everyone she encountered feel special. She was a wonderful woman.

 Pat is survived by her children – John (Sally) Klosowski, Raymond Klosowski, David (Karen Strole) Klosowski, and Sheila (Murray Donnelly) Makinen, all of Munising; grandchildren and step-grandchildren – Josh (Ashley) Hodgins, Rae (Jared) Bowerman, Stacey Tunteri, Sara (Peter) Fedder, R.J. (Samantha) Klosowski, T.J. (Amy) Lassila, Shannon (Derek) Bonevelle, John Schieding, and Bill (Amy) Schieding; great-grandchildren – Sydney, Kolton, Kenadie, Lilie, Hailo, Reagan, Ellie, Emma, Luke, Lily, Abby, Matteo, Xlya, Savannah, Jersey, Gianna, Jalen, Dana, Mason, and Mitchell; numerous nieces and nephews; and former daughters-in-law who always held a special place in Pat’s heart – Jan Anderson and Renee Dowd.

 Pat was preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Myrtle Marentette, her husband John of over fifty-eight years who died on January 8, 2013, sister Betty Rousseau, brothers Ray Marentette, Dave Marentette, and Gus Marentette, and step-grandson – Ben Schieding.

Services will be held on Friday, August 23, 2024. Visiting time will take place at the Bowerman Funeral Home in Munising on Friday morning from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Church in Munising at 12:00 noon with Father Chris Gardiner officiating. Interment will be at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Munising.
