Patricia “Pat” Nyari, age 92, of Marquette, died Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at UPHS – Marquette.  She was born on May 26, 1929 to the late Lynn and Gussie (LeBlanc) Toups in Chicago, IL.  Pat grew up in New Orleans and was later married and started her family there raising her four children.  She met William Nyari and they were married in November of 1961.  Pat loved Bill because he was a hard worker, shared her love of ballroom dancing, and without hesitation accepted her children as his own often sacrificing self for their welfare.  Pat’s family called many places home, first to South Bend, Indiana where Pat continued to work as a bank teller.  Then to Crystal Falls, MI 1970 where they owned and operated the Hideaway Resort until 1977, then back to Louisiana until returning to Crystal Falls where she became a nanny. Next to Union City, Tennessee where Pat enjoyed her grandmother duties and becoming a caregiver.  Finally, her travels brought her home to Marquette 1998 where she lived at Snowberry Heights and made many dear friends.  Pat never sat still, whether she was dancing, gardening her petunias, caring for those around her, or working, she had an energy that never faded.  Pat was a good cook and the ultimate mother.  She loved to dance, cheer for the Cubs, and ride on the pontoon around Lost Lake.  She made a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Pat is survived by her children – Jim (Jean Lysiak) Miller of Plymouth, IN, Cindy Price of Marquette, and Don (Mary) Miller of Chatham; daughter-in-law – Debbie Miller of Union City, TN; nine grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and many dear friends at Snowberry.  She was preceded in death by her husband – Bill Nyari; son – Ken Miller; parents – Lynn and Gussie; and sister – Janet Trahan.

No services are scheduled at this time.  Memorials in Pat’s name may be made to Medilodge of Munising’s activity or flower fund.

Pat’s family would like to give a special thanks to UPCAP Services, the caring staff at Medilodge, and Pastor Paul Kelto.
