Patricia "Pat" Louise Woodaz (nee St. Andrew), of Rumely, Michigan died August 17, 2013 at Marquette General Hospital after 86 incredible years. She was born in Munising, Michigan, July 1, 1927 to Lee and Zera (Moyer) St. Andrew. She attended Mather High School in Munising and graduated in 1946. Pat married her childhood friend John Thomas Woodaz on July 13, 1946 and soon after gave birth to their first of ten children John Lee Woodaz in June 1947. She held the full time job of mother, ruling with a firm yet gentle hand. Pat and John moved to the family farm in Rumely in 1962, and with the help of their children ran a self-sustaining farm for many years, long before it was cool to be self-sustaining. She was very talented and accomplished many things. Pat was a cook, artist, seamstress, and even sewed all of her daughter's wedding dresses. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, making socks, traveling, music, and spending time with her family and making new friends.
Pat is survived by her husband of over sixty-seven years - John Woodaz of Rumely; ten children - John Lee (Carmella) Woodaz of Tampa, FL, Thomas Jacob (Katherine) Woodaz of Escanaba, Francis Theodore (Janice) Woodaz of East Tawas, MI, Catherine Marie (Robert) Hill of Tampa, FL, Christopher Stanley (Patty) Woodaz of Kalamazoo, MI, Sue Ann (Darwin) Britton of Harvey, MI, Virginia Therese (Chris) Curtis of Greenville, MI, Camille L. (Donald) Quigley of Ford River, MI, Steven Allen (Sherry Dodge) Woodaz of Rumely, and Daniel Alexander (Marci) Woodaz of Lexington, SC; thirty one grandchildren; thirty eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren with one on the way; brothers - Hubert St. Andrew of Minneapolis, MN, and Francis (Freda) St. Andrew of North Fork, CA; sisters-in-law - Midge St. Andrew, Helen Rzanca, Cecilia Woodaz, Betty Woodaz, and Stella Cabanaw; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pat was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter - Cristi Curtis; her siblings - Betty Ann (Harold) Schierschmidt, Norman St. Andrew, and Ernest (Jean) St. Andrew, Esther Marie St. Andrew; brothers and sisters-in-law - Irene St. Andrew, Audrey St. Andrew, Mary (John) Kordish, Bernice Woodaz, Bernard "Bruno" Woodaz, Theodore "Tage" Woodaz, Sr. and William Cabanaw.
Visitation will be held at the Bowerman Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. and also on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Pastor Jim Duehring will conduct Pat's funeral service on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at the Bowerman Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
