Munising

Paula L. Anderson, age 79, of Munising, died early Thursday morning, September 28, 2017 at the Tendercare Health Center in Munising.  She was born on February 6, 1938 in Munising to the late Lowell and Ella (Olsen) Gibson.  Paula grew up in Munising and graduated from Mather G. High School in 1956 and then attended NMU.  In February of 1959, she went to work at Kimberly Clark.  She married Lawrence Anderson in 1961 and they had four children.  Paula continued to work fulltime at the mill and raised her family.  She retired on September 1, 1999.  Paula loved to play golf, cheer for the Green Bay Packers, and she enjoyed her coffee klatch with friends at Sydney’s and Hardees.  She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Paula is survived by children – Matthew Anderson of Munising and Laura (Mike) Felker of Wetmore; grandchildren – Keith Anderson, Amy (Curt) Heribacka, Jamie Anderson, Jamie Cockrell, and Megan Ella Murray; numerous great-grandchildren; and sisters – Janice (Fred) Hustad of Tuscon, AZ and Gail Gibson and partner Sue Camis of Fort Meyers, FL.   She was preceded in death by her parents and children Karen in December of 1964 and Mike in July of 2003.

No public services will be held and interment will be at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Munising.   If memorial donations are desired to be made, the family would suggest the American Legion Auxiliary in Paula’s memory.
