MARQUETTE, Mich. - Peggy Ruth Braamse, 78, of Marquette died Sunday May 13, 2012 at her home.
Peg was born December 24, 1933 to the late John and Burnetia Nicholson. On October 17, 1953 she married Peter Braamse and they settled in Marquette. Peg graduated from Northern Michigan University and taught in the Marquette area for several years. With her husband, she formed and was president of the Marquette Bus Service. For eleven year she was County Commissioner. She also worked at the Marquette Maritime Museum for a number of years. The last ten years she worked for Experience Works. Peg enjoyed reading books, playing games and working on her computer, playing bingo and going to the casino for their tournaments. She also liked to make rugs on her loom and to cane chairs.
Peg is survived by her beloved husband, Peter Braamse, two sons, Leonard Braamse and John (Donna) Braamse; a grandson Chance Braamse and granddaughter Jadzia Braamse; three sisters, Jean Brown of Shelter Bay, Patricia (Robert) Roesler of Pinckney, MI. and Donna Nicholson of Marquette; a sister-in-law Mary Edgar of East Lansing and numerous nieces and nephews and grand nieces and grand nephews.
