Richard "Red" Gamelin, age 73, former Munising resident entered eternal life surrounded by members his family on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 following a courageous battle with multiple myeloma (a cancer of the blood.) Red was born on April 23, 1942 in Munising to Louis "Crow" and Agnes (Diotte) Gamelin. He was an avid motorcyclist and loved his Harley Davidsons.
Red is survived by his wife of eighteen years - Linda (Borowski) Gamelin of Conway, AR; sons - Scott (Linda) Gamelin of Minneapolis, MN and Bryan (Ruth) MacKenzie of Chicago, IL; stepchildren - Justin Young of Racine, WI and Jasmine (Leland) Gough of Conway, AR; brothers - Jim (Patti) Gamelin of Marinette, WI, Bob (Barb) Gamelin of Munising, MI, and Tom (Sally) Gamelin of Green Brier, AR; sisters - Mary Jo Washam of Mayflower, AR, Patty (Bill) Whittaker and Bonnie Mannisto both of Grey Court, SC; along with several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. Red was preceded in death by his parents, son Mitch Allen Gamelin, sister Judy Monhead, brothers-in-law Ernest Monhead and Roger Washam, and nephews Jim Monhead and Wesley Washam.
There will be no services held at this time. But, please raise a glass, make a toast, and share a memory or two of Red's life.
