Richard E. Reynolds

Richard Edward Reynolds, age 73, formerly of Marquette and Saginaw, died on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at the Tendercare Health Center in Munising following a four month illness. Richard was born and raised in Saginaw, son of the late Ernest and Millie Reynolds. He served in the U.S. Army from 1958 until 1961. Richard began work as an installer for Western Electric and continued to work as the company changed hands. Richard retired from AT&T in 1994. Following retirement, he moved to Chatham Michigan from Marquette Michigan. On December 18, 1982, Richard married Alice Ylitalo. He loved deer hunting, solving crossword puzzles, fishing, working around the yard and home remodeling. Richard was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Sportsman's Club in Saginaw, the American Legion in Marquette and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association.

He is survived by his wife - Alice Reynolds of Chatham; son - Scott (Helen) Reynolds of Saginaw; daughters - Holly (Gregory) Hyland of Converse, Texas and Susan Reynolds of Saginaw; step-daughter - June Tanner of Apache Junction, AZ; five grandchildren - Heidi, Mary LeAnn, Anthony, Lilly, and Ashley; two great granddaughters - Lexus and Jaqulyn; brother - Elmer (Ann) Gorte of Sanford, MI; and numerous nieces and nephews. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, sister Marion, and brothers Don, Willard, William, Robert, and Nelson.

Richard's committal service will be on Saturday, June 19, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Chatham, MI. The Alger County Veterans Council and American Legion Honor Guard will Conduct the servie.
