Richard “Dick” Allan Fromm, age 75, of Munising, died Friday, July 17, 2020 in Minneapolis, Minnesota under the loving care of his daughter. He was born in Munising to the late Howard and Marie (Pelletier) Fromm. Dick graduated from Wm. G. Mather High School and then began working for Kimberly-Clark. He worked a number of different jobs at the mill, but was most proud being the Fire Chief, the position he held at the time of his retirement following forty-two years of service at the mill. Dick also served for many years on the Munising Volunteer Fire Department. Dick married Jeannine Passinault on October 15, 1976. Together they enjoyed four-wheeling, riding their motorcycle, and wintering in Aransas, Texas where they made many great friends. Dick also enjoyed playing cards, hunting, fishing, boating, and flying his Cessna at Hanley Field.
He is survived by his children – Richard (Lisa) Fromm of Fairbanks, AK, Tammie (Adam) Nyman of Minneapolis, MN, and Mara Becks of Waconia, MN; grandchildren – C.J., Cole, and Clay Fromm, Brent Nyman, Christina Linehan, and Noah Becks; great-grandchildren – Madison, Brooklynn, and Lucas; brothers – Vince (Kristine) Fromm and Robert (Nancy) Fromm; aunts – Eileen St.Amour and Carole LaMont; uncle Joe (Joanne) Pelletier; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Dick was preceded in death by his parents and wife Jeannine.
Fr. Michael Ocran will celebrate Dick’s Memorial Mass on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at Sacred Heart Church in Munising at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery.
The Diocese of Marquette requires that mask and family unit social distance rules are to be followed.
