Rita Jacqueline Pardiac

March 23, 1930 — February 13, 2015

Rita J. Pardiac, age 84, of Germfask and formerly of Alger, MI, died Friday, February 13, 2015 at the Tendercare Health Center in Munising, MI following a brief illness. She was born in Detroit, MI to the late Adalbert and Cecile (LeDuc) Roy on March 23, 1930. Rita graduated from St. Rita's High School in Detroit with the class of 1948. Shortly after graduation she married Edward Herbert Brown and together they had five children. They enjoyed playing cards, bowling, and fishing with the family at their cabin on Lake St. Clair in Canada. Edward preceded Rita in death in 1974. She then moved to Sterling Heights and began working in the corporate offices of K-Mart as a key punch operator. Rita married Rene Leo Pardiac in 1979. She enjoyed traveling with Leo on hunting trips, and she would host great parties by entertaining friends at their home on the Rifle River. Rita moved to the Upper Peninsula to be closer to her daughter shortly after Leo died in 2014.

She is survived by her children - Thomas (Cathy) Brown of St. Clair, MI, Michael (Cynthia) Brown of Alger, and Patricia (Bernard) Schafer of Germfask; grandchildren - Lisa, Ryan, Jacqueline (John), Michael, Jr. (Jacqueline), Alexander (Jamie), Kevin (Hannah), and Karen; great-grandchildren - Jared, Kyra, Brianna, Tyler, Amelia, Farrah, and Hawthorne; sisters - Therese Roy, Sister Marie Roy, and Suzanne (Robert) Barletta. Rita was preceded in death by husbands Edward and Leo; children Jacqueline and Gerald, and her parents.

A memorial service will be held in Alger, Michigan at a later date.
