Robert W. Wing

Robert “Bob” W. Wing, age 73 passed away on Sunday, April 3rd, 2016 at his residence in Clarksville, Tennessee after a yearlong battle with cancer.   He was born on November 11th, 1942 to the late Oscar and Emma (Gariepy) Wing in Munising, MI.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Sharon; his second wife Elaine; daughter Rachelle Marie Wing; and sister Carol Wallace.

Bob served his country in the United States Air Force from 1961 to 1965.  He moved to Clarksville from Munising in 1986 and was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.  He was an avid Michigan sports fan, loved to play golf and spending time with his beloved family.

He is survived by two sons, Robert J. Wing (Tracy) of Au Train, MI, Ryan W. Wing (Carmen Bostwick) of Clarksville, TN; daughter Raeann Winn (Chad) of Clarksville, TN; brother Fran Gariepy of Au Train, MI; and sister Janet Brown of Connecticut.  He is also survived by eight grandchildren, TJ, Elizabeth, Sammy, Dominique, DeMarcus, Emma, Hayden, and DeLyla.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 6th, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Gateway Funeral Home in Tennessee. Visitation will be held at the Bowerman Funeral Home in Munising on Friday, April 8, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.  A Parish Vigil Service will be held at 7:00 p.m.   Father Chris Gardiner will celebrate Bob’s Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Sacred Heart Church.   Interment will be at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Munising on Monday, May 9, 2016 at 2:00 p.m.  Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion and Vietnam Veteran Honor Guard.
