Munising
Roger Alan Adair, age 50, of Munising, died unexpectedly of natural causes Sunday, August 18, 2019, in Ishpeming, Michigan. He was born in Munising on April 21, 1969 to the late Dennis and Regina (Paananen) Adair. Roger’s childhood was filled with playing sports, running, and riding around the neighborhood with the Prunick boys, Dauseys, VanLandshoots, and any other Cox Addition crew they could find. He graduated from Munising High School in the class of 1987. Roger enjoyed hunting and fishing with his dad and grandpa, gardening, and jarring and pickling. Roger was a talented chef and worked at The Bear Trap, Sydney’s, Foggy’s, and The Brownstone Inn. Roger married Vanessa Pospiech in 1999. They lived in the Detroit area, and Roger worked at a tool and die factory. Roger returned to Munising and continued working as a chef. Over the years, Roger struggled with addiction and he leaned on A.A. to help him on his journey. Roger had continuous support from his family, and was grateful for his uncle Rick and aunt Jolene Paananen and cousin Denny Vertz for their encouragement and guidance though his most troubled times.
Roger is survived by his daughters – Taylor Adair and Brianna (Keith Emard) Muske; grandchildren – Damian and Aiden; sister – Tracy Adair; grandmother – Jean Paananen; niece – Sam (Jon) Charlton; great-nephew – Dekklan; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents – Denny and Regina Adair; grandparents – Donald and Hilma Adair and Charles Paananen.
