Roger J. Tallman, age 80, of Inverness, FL and formerly of Munising, died Tuesday, March 24, 2009. Roger was born in Sturgeon Bay, WI on December 2, 1928 to the late Rudolph and Hattie (Wilson) Tallman. He was a retired commercial fisherman working in Munising and Fairport, MI, and also in Alaska. Roger served our country in the U.S. Army. He always enjoyed his many travels back to his real home in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
He was survived by his children - Kirk (Sue) Tallman of Dagget, MI, Debbie (Charles Winch) Powelson of Inverness, FL, Frances (Phil) Head of Hernando, FL, Carrie Salminen of Inverness, FL; thirteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; brothers- Jim (Lita) Tallman of Munising and Bud (Rose) Tallman of Manistique; sisters - Ann Barbeau of Escanaba, and Kathleen (Kass) Peterson of Munising. Roger was preceded in death by his wife - Thelma (Beanie) in 1997; and son - Roger in 1969.
Private cremation arrangements were made with Davis Funeral Home in Inverness, FL. Rogers final resting place will be with his wife and son at Maple Grove Cemetery in Munising. "May he rest in peace."
