Roland Nedeau

Roland Nedeau, age 91, of Twin Lakes in Wetmore and Garden City, Michigan died with his family at his side at Munising Memorial Hospital on Friday, June 30, 2023 after a ten day illness.  Roland was born on June 28, 1932 in Detroit, Michigan to Raymond and Stella (Jankowiak) Nedeau.  He met and married Gloria Reffruschinni from Munising, Michigan.  Shortly after getting married, he enlisted in the Army and served in the Korean War as the second rocket artillery.  Roland was employed at Goddard and Goddard as a machine repairman.  He worked at Massey Ferguson until they closed and retired from General Motors.  Roland enjoyed camping, fishing, reading books, Sudoku, playing cards, hunting, and traveling.  He loved having family parties at his house.  Roland loved reading maps and had a worldwide map on his wall.  He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his sons – Daniel (Denise) Nedeau of Traverse City, Tom (Tami) Nedeau of Twin Lakes – Wetmore, Ed (Debbie) Nedeau of Christmas; daughter – Catherine (Paul) Smith of Munising; grandchildren – Dan (Leanne) Nedeau, Lindsey Robbins, Scott (Mary) Nedeau, Jill (Brett) Bednarski, Katie Nedeau, Jordyn (Brandon) DeFrancesco; great-grandchildren – Addison, Emerson, Hunter, Harper, Lyla, Leon, Bexley, and Bentley; brother – Ronnie (Delores) Nedeau; sister – Rose Ann Cadeau; special nephews – Bill Smith, Rick Nedeau, and Larry Cadeau.

Roland was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Stella; his wife of forty-three years Mary Ann (Vucetic) Nedeau; brother Dick (Mary Lou) Nedeau, Ray (Bea) Nedeau; brother-in-law Leonard Cadeau; and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Garden City at Rol’s home and burial will take place in Cheswick, Pennsylvania with Mary Ann his together, forever partner.   Local services will also be announced at a later date.
