Ronald W. "Ron" Pietsch, age 51, of E7122 Maple Grove Road, Munising and former owner of the Munising Bakery, died unexpectedly at his home in his sleep on Monday, September 14, 2009. He was born on October 4, 1957 in Racine, Wisconsin to the late Joseph and Sylvia (Gray) Pietsch. Ron worked many years at the O & H Bakery in Racine before moving to Munising in 1998 with his wife, Mary. He and Mary Compton were married on March 21, 1993. Together they owned and operated the Munising Bakery for ten years. Ron also had a large Mining Journal route for the past three years while working part-time at the Chatham Pub as a cook. Ron loved camping, hunting, sports, woodworking, and working on cars.
Ron is survived by his wife - Mary Pietsch of Munising; step-children - Mathew W. Nava of Racine, WI and Victoria Mae Nava of Munising; grandchildren - Damian and Keelan Hase; siblings - Dave (Carolyn), Patty, Roger (Antanelle), Joe (Debbie), Jim, and Dan (Liz) Pietsch, and Mary Graham, all of the Racine area. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Richard.
