Munising Ruthann Boucher, age 77, of Munising, died surrounded by family on Thursday afternoon, March 13, 2014, while visiting Virginia. She was born on September 12, 1936 in Munising, Michigan to William and Lula Bell (Vardon) Wilson. Ruthann's family resided in Munising the majority of her life. She graduated from Wm. G. Mather High School in 1954. Following High School, she attended Albion College and worked at the Munising Paper Mill, when she met Larry Boucher. Ruthann Wilson married Larry Boucher on July 6, 1957. They moved to Detroit where Ruthann worked for a Diamond company and Larry worked for a Tool & Die company and they had three beautiful children; Daniel, Gary, and Karilynn. In 1967, their family moved back to Munising and Larry went to work at Kimberly Clark. After this move to Munising they added another beautiful daughter, Dawn, to their family. Ruthann stayed very busy at home raising children and running a dog grooming business. She enjoyed friends and family, picking berries, painting, volunteering, crafts, reading, gardening, playing cards (Hand and Foot) with friends, playing with computers, going to the Casino, traveling to visit her family, and just about anything life threw her way. She was known to all for her generous heart and ability to fix anything. Her greatest joy of all was spending time with her family and friends and never being left out of anything. She will be dearly missed by many!!! She is survived by her children - Daniel Boucher of Munising, Gary (Darcy) Boucher of Byron, MI, Karilynn (Joe) Pierce of North Charleston, SC, Dawn (Mike) Hayes of Suffolk, VA, Louie Boucher of Suffolk, VA, and Dana Spencer (daughter by choice) ofChesapeake, VA; six grandchildren - Amberly, Shannon, Joey, Zachary, Megan and Christina; sister - Joann Carlson of Munising; and numerous nieces and nephews, and many, many friends. Ruthann was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Larry Boucher. A celebration of Ruthann's life will be held in Munising during a sunset Pictured Rocks Lakeshore Cruise on Sunday, July 6th, 2014 at 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be sent to the Alger County Animal Shelter.
