Sandra Sue Niemi
January 29, 1956 — May 11, 2015
Sandra Sue Niemi, age 59, passed away in Monroe, North Carolina on the 11th of May 2015. She was fighting multiple cancers throughout her body when she lost her battle. Sandy was born on the 29th day of January 1956 in Virginia, Minnesota to Frank and Artys Fox, both currently deceased. Sandy graduated Roosevelt High School and went on to Lake Superior State University to earn her bachelor's degree in Law Enforcement. Sandy recently went on medical disability after working for the Michigan Department of Corrections for nineteen years.
She is survived by her two siblings Robert Fox and Shelby Pickett. She is also survived by the pride and joys of her life, her sons, Brandon Niemi, currently of California, Maryland; Jason Niemi, of Monroe, North Carolina; and Nathan Niemi II, of Watford, North Dakota. She has two living grandchildren, Jaydon Niemi and Izabella Niemi, son and daughter of Nathan Niemi II. Nathan Niemi II also has another daughter on the way, Lilly Sue Niemi, who will have her middle name after Sandy. Sandy also left her loving side-kick Otto Niemi with some of his other K9 family members living with her son, Jason Niemi. Sandy was a beautiful soul that touched everyone she met. She was an angel to her family and friends and will continue to watch over all of us from a place as kind and caring as she was. Two of her best furry friends were there to greet her at the gates, Winsor and Cleo, and she has been reunited with family and friends. She will be seen in the small beautiful moments in the lives of those who loved her here on earth. She will live on in our memories and quietly watch over us throughout our days until our days run short, and she will be there to help guide us all home. We thank everyone for the kind words and prayers for the family.
Visitation will be on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at the Bowerman Funeral Home in Munising, MI from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m.
