Sandra "Sandy" Kordish

            Sandra K. “Sandy” Kordish, age 71, of Christmas, died Monday, December 25, 2023 at Medilodge of Munising following a brief illness.  She was born on November 8, 1952 in Munising to the late John F. and Mary M. (Woodaz) Kordish.  Sandy grew up in Christmas and graduated from Wm. G. Mather High School.  She worked at a number of different places: the Knotty Club, Christmas Mall, Denman’s Hardware, and then retired as a dietary aide at Tendercare.  Sandy enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting, and reading romance novels.  She also enjoyed going for walks around the neighborhood and trips to the beach at Bay Furnace with her kids.  She was a great baker and made delicious apple crisp and pistachio desserts. 

            Sandy is survived by her children - Ron Kordish and Emily Kordish of Christmas; granddaughter – Waverly; siblings – Robert “Keebler” Kordish, Anne (Rick) Gumz, Mary Sue Macy, David (Sherry) Kordish, and Rita (Billy) Morrison; sister-in-law – Cathy Kordish; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her parents – John and Mary; brother – Francis “Johnny” Kordish; and brother-in-law – Scott Macy.
