Scott David Mellon, Jr., age 20, of Christmas died on Wednesday morning, October 9, 2013 in an automobile accident on Federal Forest Highway 13 in Wetmore. He was born on August 1, 1993 in Marinette, Wisconsin, son of Terry Rebbie and Scott Mellon. Scotty grew up in Munising and attended school there. He enjoyed playing football, basketball, and baseball while growing up. Scotty loved the outdoors! He liked to hunt, fish, and ride four wheelers. He had worked with his dad at Scott's Repair in Christmas and he had been working for Superior Roofing at the time of his death.
He is survived by his parents - Terry and John Berger of Menominee and Scott and Karen Mellon of Christmas; his siblings - Tiffany (Marcus) Quarfoot of Munising, Patrick Mellon and Hunter Mellon of Christmas, Layla Berger, John Berger, and Zoey Berger all of Menominee, and Wyatt DeYoung of Stephenson; niece - Hailey Quarfoot; grandparents - Beverly Gregg of Christmas, Shirley Johnson of Christmas, Anna (Louis) Schuette of Menominee, and Richard (Myong) Rebbie, Jr. of Tennessee; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; and good friends Johnny Ray Kroupa (and his children Aubrianna and Ryder) and his cousin Sam Rebbie. Scotty was preceded in death by his grandparents - Patrick Gregg, Glenn Johnson, Nellie Tongusi, David Mellon, and his good friend Allen Jordan Miron.
Services will be held at the Bowerman Funeral Home on Monday, October 14, 2013. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Pastor Jason LaFlamme will conduct Scott's funeral service in the funeral home's chapel at 4:00 p.m.
