Munising
Sherry Lynn Boucher, age 69, of Munising, died following a nine-week illness at her home on Saturday afternoon, October 1, 2016 under the loving care of her family and North Woods Hospice. She was born on October 2, 1946 in Flint, Michigan to the late Robert and Maxine (Most) Robare. Sherry grew up in Munising and at the age of sixteen moved to Alpena. She met Jon Boucher and they became high school sweethearts. Sherry graduated from Alpena High School in 1964. She earned her LPN degree from Traverse City. Sherry and Jon married on August 22, 1968. While he served in U.S. Army in Vietnam, she worked at Alpena General Hospital. They then moved to Flint and while working at McLaren Hospital, Sherry became a Registered Nurse. She continued to work at McLaren and St. Joseph’s Hospital. Sherry worked with a plasmapheresis group and became a certified wound care nurse. After retirement, Sherry and Jon made Munising their home. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Together they worked at the food bank and became involved with the needs of the community. Sherry helped beautify the City with the flower projects around town. She and Jon enjoyed spending time together on the Lake with their family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of over forty-eight years – Jon Boucher of Munising; their daughter – Joni (Scott) Roseberry of Davison, MI; their sons – Paul Boucher of Munising and Rion Boucher of Los Angeles, CA; grandchildren – Griffin and Olivia Roseberry; three sisters – Sandy LaFave of West Branch, MI, Stacey (David) Ralph of Crump, MI, and Tammy (Rand) Martin of Gulf Shores, AL; brother – Randy Robare of West Branch, MI; brother-in-law Craig Scott; and numerous nieces and nephews. Sherry was preceded in death by her parents and sister Debbie Scott.
