Sherry Lynn (Spencer) Stromer, age 47, of Munising died on Tuesday morning, June 30, 2015 at U.P. Health System in Marquette, Michigan. She was born on August 15, 1967 in Munising to Bill and Lynn (Beaudry) Spencer. Sherry grew up in Munising and graduated from Munising High School in 1985. In 1985, Sherry's family purchased the Buckhorn Resort. While attending Northern Michigan University, she began working at the Buckhorn. Sherry loved her job. She loved serving and caring for the customers. Many of the customers became lifelong friends that she cherished. For twenty-seven years, Sherry worked hard as she waitressed, bartended, and managed the Buckhorn and she never thought of her employment as a job but more of a wonderful opportunity to hang out with friends. She married Dale A. Stromer on October 17, 1998 and they were blessed with their beautiful daughter, Tiara in 2000. Sherry enjoyed working with crafts, camping, watching the birds and chippies, spending time with family and friends, and visiting the animal shelter. She loved her Chihuahua Chloe and cats Shadow and Skylar. Sherry could light up a room with her beautiful smile and laugh. She loved the life she had.
She is survived by her loving husband - Dale Stromer of Munising; their daughter - Tiara Lynn Stromer at home; stepchildren - Joseph (Tammy) Stromer of Kennewick, WA, Ryan (Jaime) Stromer, Trisha Stromer, and Heather Stromer all of Greer, SC; her parents - Lynn and Richard Beckwith of Munising and Bill Spencer of Munising; sister - Dana (Mark DeMier) Spencer of Norfolk, VA; stepbrother - Todd (Karen) Beckwith of Marquette; step-grandchildren - Jack and James Stromer; very special aunts - Beverly (Bob) Cotter, Janice "Nana" Nolan, Kris (Jeff) Kouri, and Barb (Jim) Negilski; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws that she deeply loved; and her dear friend of over twenty years - Lonnie Brandt.
