Shirley Belle Mauhar, age 81, longtime Trenary and Rapid River resident, died early Tuesday evening, March 1, 2011 at the Tendercare Health Center in Munising after suffering from a stroke two months ago. She was born on March 6, 1929 in Trenary to the late William "Bill" and Belle (Stien) Fitzgerald. Shirley was raised in Trenary and attended school there. She was a homemaker and enjoyed watching the deer and birds from her home. She is survived by her son and longtime companion, Robert Case and Liz Thompson of Munising. No public service will be held.
