T errance “Terry” Bond, age 63, of Shingleton, died Wednesday morning, February 9, 2022 at UPHS Marquette following a lengthy illness. He was born on May 29, 1958 in Royal Oak, Michigan to the late Keith and Nancy (Wadsworth) Bond. Terry grew up in Troy and graduated from Troy High School. He was involved with automobiles all his life. Terry started in a parts store, worked at Borg Warner building transmissions and transfer cases, did towing and off-road recovery, and spent a career as a master mechanic. In 1997, he moved to Shingleton and owned Bond Towing with his brother. He later owned and operated M-28 Auto for many years. Terry married Peggy Sue Schank on December 18, 2011. Terry loved being outdoors, mudding, fishing, and racing monster trucks in the Silverdome. He adored his five grandchildren. Terry was a hardworking man who was generous with his time and talents to help anyone who needed it.
Terry is survived by his wife – Peggy Bond of Shingleton; children – Melissa (Thomas Linne) Bond of Munising, Blake Bond of Phoenix, AZ, Samantha (Kory) Burley of Munising, and Shawn Schank of Harvey, MI; grandchildren – Parker, Autumn, Grace, Tyler, and C.J.; brothers – David (Beth) Bond and Tim Bond of Detroit; parents-in-law – Stanley and Viola Schank of Ocala, FL; and best friends for decades – Bruce (Lynn) Binning and Bob (Lori) Herbert. He was preceded in death by his parents Nancy and Keith, brother Jeff Bond, and niece Violet Bond.
Visiting time with family and friends will be at the Munising Township Hall in Wetmore on Saturday, February 12, 2022 from 12:00 noon until 4:00 p.m. Rev. Sandra Kolder will conduct a celebration of life service at 2:00 p.m.
