Theresa Ann Hancock, age 70, of Shingleton, died Monday, November 30, 2020 at Medilodge of Munising. She was born in Romeo, Michigan on May 2, 1950 to the late Carl and Margorie (Reed) Dawson. Theresa graduated from Romeo High School in 1968. She married Norman Lee Hancock and together they raised their three children. Theresa earned cosmetology certificate from the beauty school in Ishpeming. She worked as a health aide at the Superior Health Haven for over twenty-five years when she retired in 2015. Theresa loved the outdoors, she enjoyed walks in the woods, and looked forward to camping trips with Norm. She was also an animal lover, who gave a home to many cats and dogs.
Theresa is survived by her children – William (Stacey) Hancock of Milwaukee, WI and Stacie (Jon) Tyner of Shingleton; daughter-in-law – Shannon Hancock of Trenary; grandchildren – Kaeleb, Lilly, Libby, Lexie, Michael (Gabi), Cyle, Nathan, Henry, Alice, and Rory; great-granddaughter – Amelia; brother Dow (Margaret) Dawson of Gladstone; brother-in-law – David “Spence” Spencer; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Norm, son Douglas Hancock, sister Beth Spencer, and brother Ross Dawson.
Private family services have taken place, and a graveside service will be held at the Munising Township Cemetery in Wetmore on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 2:00 p.m.
