Munising
Timothy Dane Morrison, age 55, of Munising, died Friday afternoon, September 11, 2015, at the Tendercare Health Center in Munising, in the arms of his wife, following a courageous fourteen year battle with cancer. He and his twin brother Tommy were born on October 12, 1959, in Munising to the late Cornelius "Ed" and Gretta (Knox) Morrison. Tim graduated from Wm. G. Mather High School in 1978. He was employed by a number of different business through the years: beginning with Dogpatch, Gatiss Distributing, the Kohler Company in Wisconsin, Corktown Bar, Kewadin Casino, and Glen's Market. On May 11, 1996, Tim married the love of his life Ann Rader. They carried on the Morrison Family tradition and ran the Tourist Park Campground for eight summers. This gave Tim the opportunity to do some of the things he loved; visiting around the campfire with family and friends and watching the beautiful Lake Superior sunsets. Tim also enjoyed motor sports, dirt bikes, and trips to the Desoto Speedway in Florida. His softer side could also be found at home, where you would find Tim sitting with his two little dogs Maggie and Sammie. He cherished the frequent visits with The Mattson clan, and numerous students of Ann's. While Ann would make snacks for her former students, Tim would teach the boys how to throw darts and maybe even share with them a dirty joke or two as they got older.
He is survived by his wife of nineteen years - Ann Morrison of Munising; daughter - Ashley Sadler of Gladstone; grandsons - Gabe and Conner; siblings - Kathy (Bill) Watson of Whitmore Lake, MI, Larry Dunklee of Venice, FL, Ed (Marilyn) Morrison of Marquette, Mary Jo "MoJo" (Jack) Gariepy of Munising, Dick (Mary Beth) Morrison of Columbus, OH, Bill (Rita) Morrison of Munising, and David (Alison) Morrison of Flushing, MI; sister-in-law - Marsha Morrison; mother and father-in-law - Peggy and Paul Rader of Munising; brother-in-law- Jon (Rebecca) Rader; aunts Gracie Bjerke and Dawn Morrison; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Tim was preceded in death by his parents Ed and Gretta, and twin brother Tom Morrison.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m at the Bowerman Funeral Home. Pastor Sandra Kolder will conduct a celebration of Tim's life on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Munising.
