Veda Emily Prunick, age 96, of Munising, died early Friday morning, April 15, 2016 at the Tendercare Health Center in Munising. She was born on October 18, 1919 in Boyne City, Michigan to Albert and Ellen (Shewfeldt) Inman. Her family moved to the Van Meer area when Veda was five months old. She lived there until 1938 when she married Frank Prunick and moved to Munising. Veda worked for twenty-four years for Dr. Olson at his office and she also babysat during those years. Veda enjoyed dancing, golfing, and watching “As the World Turns” and “Guiding Light.” She was an avid Mustang fan and great supporter of her sons’ and grandsons’ athletics. Veda proudly followed her son and three grandsons as they captured the State Football Championship in 1980.
She is survived by her son and daughters-in-law – Tom and Harriet Prunick of Wetmore, Clare Prunick of Munising, and Janet Prunick of Wetmore; grandchildren – Rich, Greg, Mike, Tim, Steve, Tom, and Audrey; great-grandchildren – Richard, Ashley, Amber, Mason, Haley, William, and Maya; great-great granddaughters – Julia and Evi; and numerous nieces and nephews. Veda was preceded in death by her parents, husband Frank in 1975, sons Bill in 1995 and Don in 2014, four brothers, and two sisters.
Graveside services will be held at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Munising on Friday, July 1, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. with Deacon Tom Moseley officiating.
