Munising
Veronica R. (Kroupa) Murray, age 51, of Munising, died surrounded by her family early Sunday evening, May 13, 2012 at the Tendercare Health Center in Munising following a lengthy illness. She was born in Pontiac, Michigan on May 16, 1960 to the late Zane and Mary (Reffruschinni) Kroupa. Veronica grew up in Holly and moved to AuTrain as a teenager. She graduated from Wm. G. Mather High School and then moved back to the Detroit area. Veronica married Donald "Donny" Murray and together they raised their three children. She moved back to Munising around five years ago and had been working at the casino as a server when her health declined. Veronica was a member of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians. She enjoyed gardening, reading, and the outdoors. In the last few years, Veronica received a lot of strength from her faith. Her faith and reading the Bible were very important to her.
She is survived by her children - Jessica (Ken) Puderbach of Birch Run, MI, Benjamin Murray of Saginaw, MI, and Katie Murray of Grand Blanc, MI; three grandchildren - Michael, Darren, and Lilly; siblings - Julie (Gary) Mattson of Green Bay, Zane "Butch" Kroupa of Vermont, Dorthy Kroupa Anderson of Gwinn, and Steve Kroupa of Texas; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Veronica was preceded in death by her parents, husband Donny, sister Renee Kroupa and brother David Kroupa.
Fr. Chris Gardiner will celebrate a Mass for Veronica on Friday, May 18, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Therese Church in AuTrain.
