Neenah, WI
Victoria Ann (Davis Nelc) Frank, age 27, of Neenah, Wisconsin passed away on Monday morning, March 24, 2014 at the Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, with her Mother at her side. Victoria was born on November 1, 1986 in Munising, Michigan. She grew up the baby of five children of her parents, Jodi (Golisek) and Frank Nelc. When the family moved to Wisconsin when Victoria was seven, she was devastated to have to move away from her Nanner and Grampa. She adjusted to the Wisconsin move, but cherished the time she could spend back in Munising. Family was everything to Victoria. When she was a child, all she wanted to be when she grew up was a mother. Her dreams were fulfilled with the birth of her sons, Maxwell and Hunter. Victoria also loved her parents, siblings, grandparents and extended family and the gatherings they spent together. In 2008, Victoria was diagnosed with Very Severe Aplastic Anemia (VSAA). She began the fight of her life that would continue throughout her remaining days, beginning with a blood stem cell transplant on November 24, 2009, with her brother, Nicholas Davis' donor stem cells. Throughout her fight, she had faith that would move mountains and inspire many. Post-transplant, she developed Graft-versus-Host Disease (both Acute & Chronic), then bronchiolitis obliterans syndrome (BOS). There were many extended hospital stays, but Victoria would not give up her fight. The longer she ferociously fought, the more time she had on this earth with her boys. She knew the Lord was in control and had the power to heal and she experienced the love and healing of the Lord. Victoria experienced sixteen miracles in just her recent hospital stay. She recovered many times and perplexed the doctors. In one of their conferences concerning a recovery, the doctors told her mother, Jodi, that they didn't know how to explain what had happened. Jodi looked at them all and said, "Why don't you just cut the Lord a break and give him this one." Victoria's family also had faith to move mountains. They prayed for restoration and they knew she would someday be healed and be able to go home. Although it is not the home they wanted, they know Victoria is whole and that she has gone home to be with Jesus. Victoria was an amazing woman of her word who in her short lifetime knew faith, wisdom and forgiveness that most of us only hope to attain in a lifetime. When things would get difficult in the hospital, she would look at her mom and say, "Mama, pray for them. Don't let Satan take over here, just pray for them and it will all be OK." Victoria died forgiving those who trespassed against her and praying for those she had trespassed against. It was just who she was. In addition to family time and playing with her boys, Victoria loved arts and crafts from the early days with her Nanner crocheting, knitting and making angels, gardening, decorating, and making a wonderful environment for her boys. Victoria was also a country woman. She would joke that you could take the girl out of the country, but not the country out of the girl. She enjoyed both country and gospel music. Victoria exuded the grace and peace of the Lord, inspiring those around her to recognize it. When she was initially diagnosed, she told her Mom, "Don't ever ask 'why me?' Ask why not me instead of my neighbor. Look what they did to Jesus; they tortured him, and nailed him to a cross." Wisdom and faith beyond her years....
