Wayne C. Davis "W.C.", age 73, passed away on May 22, 2009 at 10:30 p.m. after a courageous battle with colon cancer. Wayne was born on January 27, 1936 in Watertown, South Dakota and grew up on the family farm in Waubay, SD and graduated from the Waubay schools. His parents were Darwin and Carin Davis. After leaving the family farm, Wayne traveled all over the country working at various jobs and living life to the fullest. Wayne then joined the Army and due to a car accident had to leave the service. He was employed by Western Electric, AT & T, Lucent, and recently Alcatel Lucent. In 1973, Wayne married Shelley McQuisten Davis. He also leaves behind five children, two sons Chris and Benjamin, and three daughters Karen, Kim, and Megan, nieces nephews and relatives in South Dakota and Muskegon.
Wayne loved his children so much and was very involved in their lives. Whether it was BBQ's, going for rides, walks, or traveling. He loved them so much and they will miss him so. Wayne could be quite a character making people laugh and having fun with people.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Darwin and Bill. Private services will be held and in lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Bay Cliff Health Camp in Big Bay in memory of Wayne.
