Wendlin “Bill” Anstett, age 77, of the Boot Lake area died while hunting in the woods on Tuesday, November 23, 2021. He was born in Detroit on October 1, 1944 to Roy and Barbara (Roth) Anstett. Bill grew up in Harrison Township and graduated from L’ance Creuse High School. He was a superintendent at many golf courses in Michigan, Ohio, and Washington, including Rattle Run in St. Clair. Bill moved to the Boot Lake area 2 ½ years ago. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, and fishing.
Bill is survived by sisters Patricia Wybo and Wilma Miller; nephew Bill Newman who he lived with; and other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Shirley Charles and Royalene Newman Pagel, and brother Peter Anstett.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, May 19, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at 9937 Graves Road, Shingleton.
