Wilhelmina "Wilma" F. Perry

October 16, 1947 — November 2, 2017

Munising

Wilhelmina “Wilma” F. Perry, age 70, of Munising, died Thursday, November 2, 2017 at The Lighthouse in Ishpeming following a brief illness.  She was born on October 16, 1947 in Schijndel, Netherland to the late Henrika and Anna (Vanscoot) Boselie.  Wilma’s family moved to the United States when she was 10 years old.  They lived in Grand Rapids, MI for a short while before the family opened a business in Appleton, WI.  This is where she met Jeffrey Perry, and after asking thirteen times Wilma finally said yes, and they were married on March 26, 1966.  They moved to the Upper Peninsula in 1970, and shortly after Wilma opened her doors to the youth of our area.  Over the years, Wilma and Jeff fostered thirteen kids and she babysat for anyone who needed.  She loved to spoil the kids and smuggle them goodies when their parents weren’t looking.  Wilma enjoyed cooking for big groups and gatherings, camping, playing Hub’s radio BINGO, wearing out her vacuums, and spending time at the Club with her friends at Alger Commission on Aging.

Wilma is survived by her husband of fifty-two years – Jeff Perry of Munising, siblings – Maria Van Sambeek, Antonette Bavinck, Dutch Boselie, Martin Boselie, JoAnn Wordell, and Hank Boselie; children – Audrey (Riley) Stout, Chelsey (Alex) Zamarron, Richard Cota, and Bradley Sherwood; numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and so many kids she cared for and loved dearly.  She was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Anna.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. at the Bowerman Funeral Home in Munising.  Pastor James Petersen will conduct Wilma’s funeral at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
