Zeta F. Shepley, age 93, of Manistique and former longtime Shingleton resident, died on Friday evening, October 21, 2011 at the Schoolcraft Medical Care Facility in Manistique. She was born on March 27, 1918 in Kipling, Michigan to Glenn and Viola (Abby) Goin. Zeta married William "Bill" Shepley on March 11, 1939. They were married almost fifty-nine years when he preceded her in death on February 18, 1997. Zeta enjoyed sewing and visiting the casino. She loved gardening and canning.
She is survived by her two daughters - Barbara (Greg) Stimac of Manistique and Bonnie (Bill) Salchert of Calumet; sister Arlene (Don) Hill of Rock; five grandchildren - Carmen Marciniak, Bradley Stimac, Jessica, Alicia and Beryl Turino; three step-grandchildren- Cassie Johnson, Matt and Mark Salchert; ten great-grandchildren; son-in-law - Walter Turino of Houghton; and several nieces and nephews.
Zeta was preceded in death by her parents; husband - Bill; three sisters - Virginia, Irene and infant Amber; and four brothers - Robert, Fred, Glenn, Jr. and infant Vernon.
There will not be any services at this time for Zeta. Graveside services will take place at a later date.
